Cotes du Rhone Villages Visan Vieilles Vignes
Full bodied, rich and well structured, the blend is dominated by (90%) 50 year old Grenache vines planted in poor soils of clay and stone.

2001 $15.99
"The 2001 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Visan Vieilles Vignes (a 2,000-case blend of 90% Grenache, 5% Carignan, and 5% Syrah, bottled without fining or filtration) reveals a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of flowers, compost, black cherries, and cassis. Layered, full-bodied, pure, and elegant, it should drink well for 5-6 years. This is an exceptionally impressive offering, and may be one of the finest wines produced in the northern Cotes du Rhone village of Visan. A Great value." 91 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #145
