Campo de Borja Crianza
Selection
A careful blending of 50% Grenache, 25% Tempranillo
and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. From mountainside vineyards between 550 and 700
meters above sea level, giving the wine an intense red color with tones of pomegranate.
After 10 months in French and American oak casks, a further 14 months of bottle
ageing results in a full bodied wine with a tight structure supporting near term
cellaring.
2000 $9.99
"Bright red-ruby. Currant,
whiskey barrel and hints of exotic fruits on the oaky nose. Then juicy and spicy
in the mouth, with more depth of flavor and texture than the foregoing 2000s.
Currant, raspberry and spicy oak flavors of noteworthy intensity. Finishes with
firm but fine tannins. This is more satisfying than cheap Rioja in this price
range." Steve Tanzer, International Wine cellar 7-8/03
"Expressive floral and berry aromas follow through in this polished red.
Firm and balanced, with a sweet berry finish. Drink now through 2005."
