ELIO PERRONE

Because of its delicacy and dependence on perfect balance great Moscato is hard to make, and only a few dedicated producers have mastered the art. One of these is retired champion motocross racer Stefano Perrone who is quickly emerging as a Moscato superstar at the family domaine named for his father, Elio Perrone. The Perrone family has been producing Moscato on the hills of Castiglione Tinella since the end of the 19th century on 8.5 hectares of vineyards planted on well-exposed sites 360 meters above sea level. Although he makes a number of wines including Barbera, Dolcetto and Chardonnay, Stefano's formidable reputation rests squarely on the success of his Moscato.

"Readers looking for light-bodied, gorgeously fruity, pure sparklers with unobtrusive levels of effervescence should check out these ...brilliant efforts from Elio Perrone." Robert Parker

Moscato d'Asti Sourgal
Sourgal is vinified for immediate consumption and is bottled starting in November, shortly after the harvest. The bouquet of the aromatic Moscato is wonderfully intense, with loads of fresh floral fruits livened by excellent balancing acidity and very good length. This slightly frizzante white is perfect as a summer sipper - either in place of dessert or matched with fruit or custard. Great for Brunch as well.
