Di Bruno

Bruno D'Alfonso has attained legendary winemaking status in the Central Coast region and beyond for his winecraft at Sanford Vineyard and Winery and for his own wines. The Di Bruno wines combine an enviable pedigree of fruit, a generous though traditional style, and a respectful nod to those who cultivated Santa Ynez's first and foremost vineyards. "Sanford didn't want to make another white [in addition to Chardonnay]," Di Bruno said. "I always wanted to do a Pinot Grigio." So the winemaker, who is a 10 percent owner in Sanford, started his own label. He makes both Sanford and Di Bruno wines at Sanford Winery.

Pinot Grigio
With grapes sourced from the renowned Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, this is a real eye opener. Beautiful aromas of grain, ginger, citrus and honey lead to a thirst quenching wave of stone infused fruit balanced with and integrated backbone of acidity.

Sangiovese
Sanford winemaker Bruno d' Alfonso's Sangiovese is food friendly. Bright red cherry aromatics are obvious and the fruit is just as bright and fresh in the mouth. A nice textural pull that adds some complexity that will lengthen with time in the bottle.
