The village of Orschwihr is
situated between the Vosges Mountains and the Black Forest, in the Haut Rhine
region of Alsace, in northeastern France. The Albrecht family established themselves as vignerons here
in the 1770?s, and with 25 hectares (62 acres) planted, they are the largest
vineyard owners in Orschwihr. Jean
Albrecht, the ninth-generation of Albrecht winemakers, produces wines that are
rich, balanced, pure in style, and that offer versatility with a wide range of
cuisines, complementing everything from classic Alsatian dishes to spicy Indian
or Thai meals.

Riesling Cuvee Henri
This is a beautiful Riesling with the vines over 40 years old. Fresh floral
and honey notes are present in the nose, while the wine is rich and loaded
with fruit and good acids for a clean finish. This is as pure and unadulterated an expression of
Riesling fruit as one can hope to find, that says more about the sheer youth of
the wine, since a delicate young Riesling reveals flaws that become less
apparent with time. There is nothing shrill or metallic here, just fruit so
fresh that one almost expects to hear a crunch
