Ch Grinou is located thirty
miles south of St Emilion. The dynamic vigneron Guy Cuisset produces a
wonderfully exotic, floral and exuberant white wine from a blend of 50%
Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon.
"The
wines of Bergerac, the appellation just to the east of Pomerol, tend to be light
and fruity, but this is a surprisingly intense blend of Semillon and
Sauvignon. The big bouquet of rich, intense fruit and flowers is followed by a
crisp, lively, ripe, exuberantly styled dry white wine that is oh so easy to
drink. It saddens me that more wines such as this are not readily found in the
marketplace, because they have that rare virtue of pleasing both neophytes and
connoisseurs. Over the last several years this offering from Chateau Grinou has
been one of my favorite dry white wines for everyday drinking. A great value!"

Bergerac Sec Sauvignon
This incredible white undergoes extended skin contact
before fermentation, which extracts impressive, ripe, appealing aromatics. The
racy sauvignon leaps out of the glass and screams grapefruit and citrus while
the Semillon fills out the long, textured palate with intriguing herbal notes. A
gorgeous, pure and classic Bergerac.
