"It is a shame there are not more producers as dedicated and talented as Jean Marc Joblot. Working in one of the lesser know appellations, Givry, he continues to fashion rich, concentratedm cxhewy pure red Burgundies that can be drunk young, yet that are ,more than capabvle of lasting over a decade. They embarrass many Premier and Crand Crus from the more prestigious Cote d'Or. Burgundy fanatics have been gobbling up Joblot wines since he burst on the scene with the gorgeous 1985s. His wine continue to demonstrate a progression in quality." Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar

"Justifiably recognized as one of the finest producers from Burgundy's Cote Chalonnaise, the Joblot family consistently crafts Givrys that are as good as many grand crus from the Cote d'Or. Since Joblot's work in the vineyard always ensures moderate yields, his grapes achieve physiological ripeness earlier than most, providing him with the luxury of setting early harvest dates." Givry Clos Cellier aux Moines
2002 $37.99
"Readers with patience may have experienced the grandeur of a well-aged bottle from Jean-Marc Joblot. His 1990s, for example, at 14 years of age, are singing. In my estimation, the 2002 Givry Clos du Cellier aux Moines will evolve gloriously. Its deep, plummy black cherry scents lead to a medium-bodied personality packed with candied dark fruits. Pure, satin-textured, and peppery, this wine reveals loads of ripe tannin in its structure. Its lengthy finish exhibits a trait I love, a parting kirsch-like kiss of sappy fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016."

"The 2001 Givry Cellier aux Moines sports a superb nose of black cherries, freshly cut flowers, and blackberries. Medium-bodied, concentrated, and displaying copious quantities of black fruits, it is a slightly broader, deeper wine than the Servoisine yet is firmer and more tannic. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2014." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #147

Givry Clos de la Servoisine
2002 $37.99
"Spicy oak scents are interspersed with black cherries and blackberries in the nose of the 2002 Givry Clos de la Servoisine. Armed with gorgeous depth of fruit, this rich, medium to full-bodied wine is plush, beautifully ripe, and generously endowed with dark berries. Notes of vanilla can be detected in its long, structured finish. Projected maturity: 2007-2015." 91-92 The Wine Advocate #153

"Plums, blackberries, and cassis can be found in the aromatic profile of the 2001 Givry Clos de la Servoisine. Light to medium-bodied, it reveals outstanding depth to its roasted black fruit-flavored core. Loads of ripe tannin give this wine a firm, almost St.-Estephe-like structure. Projected maturity: 2005-2011."
