"This superb domaine, which only began estate bottling in 1983, is clearly on top of their game. Henri Jayer was initially consulted to provide his philosophy of wine-making, elevage, and bottling until the two talented, brilliant young men responsible for the superb wines emanating from this estate, Jean-Nicolas Meo and Christian Faurois, assumed complete responsibility. One might argue that Henri Jayer's legacy is evident in all of the wines that emerge from this impeccably run estate. These thrilling red burgundies are made from yields of under 30 hectoliters per hectare, aged primarily in new oak casks, and bottled without filtration and in some cases no fining. There are riveting expressions of Pinot Noir - rich, authoritative, velvety-textured, and concentrated, as well as complex, elegant, and exceptionally well-balanced. This is one of the great domaines of the future." Robert Parker

Clos Vougeot
This famed wine is produced from a relatively large (3 hectares), old vine parcel located near the top of the Clos.
1999 $126.99 available
"Bright ruby-red. Spicy, pure aromas of blackberry, licorice and sweet oak, all lifted by a floral topnote. Very sweet, sappy and suave; conveys an impression of small berries-or is this simply the effect of a bit of saignee A bit less flamboyant than the Boudots, but subtler and more elegantly styled. The finish features fine tannins and excellent length. 90-93
Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 3/4-01
1998 $129.99 limited
"Good red-ruby. Aromas of cherry, licorice and spicy oak, plus a violet topnote. Rich, broad and fleshy, with impressive sweetness and volume for a young Clos Vougeot. Then finishes with fine, horizontal, palate-coating tannins. A very good showing. 91
Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 3/4-01
"Tannic, but the tannins are enveloped by plenty of fleshy fruit. Medium-bodied, deftly toasted with spicy oak. Bursts with some clean and pure blackberry flavors and offers a lingering, succulent, firm finish. Best from 2002 through 2008. 580 cases made.

1997 $99.99 very limited
"Good dark red. Currant, licorice, herbs and mint on the nose. Lush and fat on entry, then supple and rather strong in extract for a '97. Still holding a lot of gas. This has reasonably good backbone for the vintage but should be approachable early. Finishes with good length and a note of black cherry. My old Clos Vougeot vines bring finesse, while the young vines supply structure, says Meo.
" Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 3/4-99
"The medium to dark ruby-colored 1997 Clos Vougeot exhibits huge ripeness in its otherwise tight aromatics. This is a big, broad, sur-maturite-laced wine, with flavors reminiscent of a compote of red and black fruits. Suave, medium to full-bodied, possessing lovely intensity and a spice-laden finish, this wine should be consumed over the next 6-7 years." 89-91 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #125

Nuits St Georges Boudots
1995 $79.99 SOLD OUT
"Dark berries, licorice and smoke on the very fresh nose. Sweet, supple and intensely flavored, with penetrating black cherry fruit. Went into a shell in the glass. Tannins are substantial but ripe. Strong juice. 90
Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 3/4-98

Nuits St Georges Murgers
1998 $89.99 very limited
"Good bright deep red. Rather closed on the nose; hints at redcurrant, raspberry, mint, flowers and smoke. Tighter than the '98
Meo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges Boudots; less fleshy and higher in acid and thus a bit ungiving today. Rather austere, even a bit dry, on the tannic finish. Boudots tendency toward charm is an advantage in a firm vintage like '98, notes winemaker, Jean-Nicholas Meo." Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 3/4-00
