"Marc Morey is one of the finest producers in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. In top vintages his wines reveal excellent to outstanding concentration, creamy, honeyed textures, and a style not far removed from one of the great masters of white Burgundy, Michel Niellon. ... Due to the efforts of Bernard Mollard, Marc Morey's son-in-law and this domain's director, this estate has made more progress than any other in Chassagne-Montrachet. I first noticed the changes taking place in the 1992 vintage and am ecstatic to report that the overall quality continues to increase. Mollard is convinced that low yields are the key to making great wines; therefore he prunes his vines remorselessly throughout the year. Mollard ages his wines in only 30% new oak ... and they handle it beautifully. " Robert Parker

Batard Montrachet
2000??????? $149.99??????? very limited
1999??????? $162.99??????? very limited
"Vibrant, multidimensional aromas of lime, flowers and charry oak. Big, rich, thick and sweet; a powerful, chewy, honeyed wine that not at all rustic in its youth. Finishes fleshy and very long. The 2000 is even higher in sugar (14%, compared to 13.6% here), but today I find more sweetness and power in this '99. 92 Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-01
"The 1999 Batard-Montrachet reveals loads of super-ripe yellow/white fruits and nuts in its aromatics. Light to medium-bodied and well-made, it has excellent depth to its oily-textured character. Poached pears, ripe Red Delicious apples, and hints of apricots can be discerned in its flavorful character. Drink it over the next 7 years." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #133

"Deep yellow Chardonnay, showing nice dried fruit, honey, apple, pear and lemon. Full-bodied and ripe, this is delicious all the way to the succulent finish. Drink now through 2005. 580 cases made." 90 The Wine Spectator 10/15/00

Chassagne Montrachet Morgeots
2000??????? $57.99??????? limited
1999?????? $57.99??????? limited
"Fresh fruit aromas of apricot, ripe citrus, vanilla and oak char. Firmly structured and intensely flavored; comes across as distinctly drier than most of the other '99s at this address. A harder style of wine, but shows noteworthy vivacity on the lingering back end. 87-90 Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-00
1998??????? $59.99??????? limited
"Intense herbal tea and stone aromas can be found in the 1998 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot's nose. It displays excellent concentration, depth, power, and a plump, deep, white fruit-filled personality. This harmonious, flavorful, and persistent wine will be at its best if drunk over the course of the next 7 years." 90 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #128
"Low-toned aromas of roasted pit fruits, truffle, honey and oak. Concentrated, dense and ripe; fruit flavors show a honeyed sweetness but are nicely brightened by limey acidity. Solidly built for a '98. Finishes with good persistence." Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-00

Chassagne Montrachet les Vergers
2000??????? $54.99??????? available
"Peach, lime and a spicy element on the nose. Round, supple and sweet, with ripe pit fruit flavors. A consistent wine with good stuffing and length." Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-0
1999??????? $56.99??????? limited
"Hazelnuts and almonds can be found in the appealing aromatics of the 1999 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers. Medium-bodied with excellent depth, fat, and breadth, this lush stone, gravel, and pear-flavored wine also proposes a long, supple finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2005."? Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #133
"Apricot, honeysuckle, truffle and vanillin oak on the ripe nose; could use a bit more verve. Fat and dense, with citrus flavors contributing to an impression of spine. Rather oaky on the end, but more consistent and persistent than the Chenevottes. 87-90 Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-00
1998??????? $57.99??????? limited
"Lime blossom, fresh pear and spicy oak on the nose. Clean, fresh flavors of lime and spicy oak; sound acids give this wine very good finesse and shape. Shows a distinctly lighter touch than the Chenevottes. Finishes with good persistence." Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-00

Chassagne Montrachet en Virondots
2000??????? $54.99???? ?? limited
1999 ?????? $56.99?????? limited
"Sappy, vibrant aromas of lime, honeysuckle, mint, truffle and minerals. Very intensely flavored, with the high-pitched citrus and mineral components and the wine's firm acidity ("always higher than my other premier crus," notes Mollard) contributing to a very dry impression. Very youthful yet already offers lovely inner-mouth perfume. Like the Caillerets, this wears its oak gracefully. Finishes very subtle and long. 90-93 Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-00
1998?? ???? $57.99?? ???? limited
"Aromatically explosive nose combines lime, acacia flower, hawthorn, truffle, and smoky oak. Spicy and light on its feet, with impeccably integrated acids. Elegant and pure for the year, with an exhilarating floral lift. Quite refined for the year, and very long on the back end." 91 Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 9/10-00
1997 ?????? $59.99???? ?? limited
"I loved the 1997 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Virondots each time I tasted it (I've tried it on at least 6 occasions to date). It has a fresh, earthy, white/red fruit, and gravel-scented nose. On the palate, creamy pears, apples, and a gorgeously pure minerality can be found. It is medium-to-full-bodied, tangy, silky, fresh, rich, and possesses a well-delineated and complex finish. Projected maturity: now-2007." 90 Robert Parker, The Wine advocate #123
"Lovely opulence but also delicious focus, with smoke, toast, vanilla bean and ripe fruit flavors. Full-bodied, super-balanced, complex and layered with personality, with a lingering, lime-spiked finish. Best from 2001 through 2005. 115 cases made." 92 The Wine Spectator 9/30/99
