Just across the Rh?ne River from
Avignon, in the village of Fourmes, is the miniscule estate of Thierry Boudinaud.
He has barely 15 acres here planted to the classic white Rh?ne varieties
Marsanne and Viognier.
Marsanne/Viognier
Each year this selection of white wine is made balancing
the two aromatic varietals to promote fresh honeysuckle fruit.
The grape clusters are pressed whole, very slowly, to extract maximum
flavors. This bottling of
Marsanne-Viognier is generally a blend of 60% to 70% Marsanne, with the balance
in Viognier. This wine is fermented
in stainless steel and is bottled in early spring for freshness.
2003 $10.99
2002
$10.99
Le Pelican
The Pelican bottling is selected from
slightly older parcels in the vineyard. The Le Pelican is dominated by Viognier with the balance in
Marsanne. Fermentation in small barrels
adds richness and texture.
2003 $13.99
2002 $12.99
