In the summer of 2000, David Waddington came to his senses and after 25 years in the packaging industry, he took an entry level job as a retail Wine Consultant. He was not, however a newcomer to wine. In the early 70s along with many Americans he began to appreciate fine wine and began to read and learn about wine. Along with the rest of the country, fine wine and good food became an integral facet of life. After joining Sigel’s in 2001, David has continued to explore his passion for fine wines and great spirits. Visits to vineyards in California, Burgundy and the Rhone Valley in France, and Argentina and Chile, countless tastings with winery owners and winemakers have continued to spark his passion. Study of wine, spirits and beer have earned certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Society of Wine Educators for both wine and spirits and Cicerone. David is a member of the Dallas Sommelier Society and is currently in a study group in pursuit of further certification.
