Join us at Sigel's-Greenville (5757 Greenville Ave) from 5-7pm as we welcome some of the finest Australian winemakers from Down Under. This isn’t just an ordinary tasting – we’ll be going beyond the glass with the winemakers who, by doing it their own way, are crafting some of the most exciting wines on this ancient continent. Noted Dallas caterer, Australian Andrew Ormsby, has created a menu of wonderful appetizers that will highlight the affinity between these special wines and his fine cuisine. Cabernet Sauvignon High Trellis 2015                  90rp   
100% Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale, aged 20 months on lees in American oak. Unfined, unfilitered.
The structured house style works well with the 2015 The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon. Leafy, floral and cassis notes appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is firm and concentrated and the finish long and precise. It could use a couple of years to mellow, then it will drink well for a decade or more.” 90rp 

Shiraz Dead Arm 2016                                             94rp
100% Shiraz from McLaren Vale, aged 18 months on the lees in new and used French oak. Unfined, unfilitered.
Impressive richness and depth from the outset here. The nose has rich dark-plum, chocolate and earth aromas with such poise and richness. The palate is full-bodied with saturated plums and blackberries. Long, ribbony tannins. Drink or hold.” 94js 

Henry’s Seven 2016                                                  93js
66% Shiraz, 15% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 9% Viognier from Barossa and Eden Valley.
“A very attractive array of ripe blackberry that speaks to the two-thirds shiraz component here, redder Grenache perfume and some spicy allure. The palate's supple, fleshy and succulent with a ball of smooth glossy dark berry and plum flavor. Drink or hold.” 93js 

Keyneton Euphonium 2013                                     92+rp
45% Shiraz, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc (56% Barossa, 44% Eden Valley)
Henschke's 2013 Keyneton Euphonium is deep garnet-purple in color and exudes lovely, expressive blackberries and cherries on the nose, with menthol, pepper, anise and cloves—plus a waft of fragrant earth. A full, rich and concentrated blend, with firm and grainy tannins, this wine is well balanced and possesses great structure.” 92+rp 

Cabernet Serpico 2008                                             94rp   
100% Cabernet Sauvignon (100% appassimento) aged 10 months in new oak, 80% French and 20% American.
“The 2008 Serpico was made in the Amarone method from grapes picked at around 12.5% and semi-dried slowly, finishing at around 15% alcohol. In 2008 it managed to side-skirt the heat as it was picked early. It was matured for 9 months in 100% new barriques, 90% French. Very deep garnet-purple colored, it gives pronounced notes of creme de cassis, Christmas cake, plum pudding, anise, cassia and nutmeg. The rich, full-bodied flavors are very spicy on the palate, off-set by crisp acid and medium-firm fine tannins, finishing with persistent, somewhat savory flavors. Aided by top McLaren Vale winemaker Ben Glaetzer, Frank Mitolo continues to forge a fantastic range of individually styled wines.” 94rp

“The finest Jester Cabernet I can remember, this full-bodied yet supple wine features aromas of cassis, cedar and vanilla in fine balance. Cassis and chocolate flavors continue in the same vein, followed by a silky, long finish. Drink now–2028.” 92ag

100% Shiraz from Barossa (78%) and Eden Valley (22%), average age of vines – 50 years.
“Lots of soy, stone, iodine and oyster shell with blue and black fruits. Full to medium body, firm and silky tannins and a juicy and long finish. The quarter of Eden gives this complexity and length.” 95js 

Grenache Bush Vines 2016
100% Grenache from Barossa, aged 6 months in older American, French and Hungarian oak.
“Strawberry in hue and in flavor, too, it's hard not to emit a grunt of pleasure upon first smelling and tasting this wine. It's light, bright and aromatic, bursting with plump red berries, orange peel, cumin, white pepper, stalks and a herbal tonic tone. Medium-bodied and silky smooth, it's seriously fruity but steers clear of being syrupy. Drink now–2026.” 91we 

Shiraz Samuel’s Collection 2017                                         
100% Shiraz aged 10 months in 15% new French, Hungarian and American oak. A moreish Barossa Shiraz that is approachhable, full-bodied and fleshy. Deep and brooding with aromas of dark fruits, red spices, anise and ripe cherries, the palate flows with even texture towards a soft finish. Excellent depth of color and a rich texture. Enjoy with sweet potato and black bean burgers or a lamb roast with all the trimmings. 

Cape Mentelle
Shiraz/Cabernet 2017                                              92js    
Plums and sweet tobacco with some wet earth on the nose and palate. It shows a vivid and bright palate with very fine tannins and a crisp and long finish. Drink now.” 92js 

Rose 2018                                                                90js
78% Shiraz (saignee), 8% Tempranillo, 8% Grenache, 6% Sangiovese fermented in stainless steel and aged on the fine lees to enrich the wine’s texture.
A fruity rosé that shows nectarines, strawberries and peaches. Quite full-bodied on the palate for a rosé, but this delivers verve and delight. Drink now.” 90js 

Riesling Bin 51 2018                                               92rp
100% Riesling from Eden Valley, aged 3 months in stainless steel.
Classic lime sherbet notes mark the nose of the 2018 Riesling Bin 51. It's leafy and fresh, then folds in hints of riper fruit on the palate, such as peach and pear. Crushed stone and wet moss give it a firm grounding in the earth as well. Crisp, lean and long, it shimmers with positive sunshine and energy, vibrant and lingering on the finish.” 92rp 

Shiraz Kalimna Bin 28 2016                                   91rp
100% Shiraz aged 12 months in older American oak.
The full-bodied 2016 Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz is a blend of fruit from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Upper Adelaide and Wrattonbully. It's a warm-climate, rich, plush Shiraz, with a velvety mouthfeel and lingering savory notes on the finish.” 91rp 

Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Chardonnay 2016           90ag   
100% Chardonnay, 100% barrel fermented (50% wild yeast)
“Brilliant straw-yellow. Pear nectar, vanilla and a hint of smokiness on the pungent nose. Chewy and broad in the mouth, offering nicely concentrated orchard and pit fruit flavors that are braced by a jolt of refreshingly bitter lemon pith. Finishes silky and long, with a repeating pear note and a touch of candied citrus fruit.” 90ag 

Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Shiraz 2015                     90ws
100% Shiraz, aged 12 months in French oak and English oak cask (5000L, 140 yrs old).
Has a sense of presence, with fresh, herb-tinged flavors of thyme, cranberry and pomegranate at the core. Notes of matcha green tea and baking spices linger in the background. Drink now through 2027.” 90ws 

Vasse Felix
Cabernet Sauvignon Filius 2015                                        92ws  
87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec, aged 12 months in French oak (13% new).
Opens with a fresh green accent reminiscent of tomato leaf and sage, giving a savory, peppery note to the plush, velvety cassis and plum core. Finds balance between grace and power, with spice and herb elements lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2028. 800 cases imported.” 92ws 

Cabernet Sauvignon Premier 2015                                    95js   
88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot, aged 15 months in French oak (44% new).
A very composed and powerful cabernet with plenty of rich red and darker berries such as blueberries, raspberries, redcurrants and cherries. The palate is smoothly rendered with a wealth of fine, densely arrayed tannins. Superb. Drink or hold.” 95js
